API´s SmartTRACK™ is a break-through for measurements and alignments of large parts and assemblies. API´s SmartTRACK™ Sensor in combination with an API Laser Tracker provides you with the position (X, Y, Z) AND the rotational orientation (pitch, yaw, roll angles) in real time!. For 6DOF only one Laser Tracker is needed - instead of three.

The SmartTRACK™ Sensor in operation
A motorized receiver within the SmartTRACK™ Sensor tracks the laser beam providing object pitch and yaw information in real-time. A proprietary roll detection system provides object roll angle. The SmartTRACK™ Sensor greatly simplifies instrument and software complexity to perform intricate alignment tasks.

To execute complicated alignment tasks the SmartTRACK™ Sensor is perfectly co-ordinated with the Tracker3™. The sensor expands the capability of the T3™ Laser Tracker to measure 6 degrees of freedom in real time . All API Laser Trackers can be retrofitted with the SmartTRACK™ Sensor at any time.

More is less: reduced complexity means reduced failure modes. The elemination of active temperature compensation provides a superior reliability, stability and accuracy. With a competitive 8,5 kg and only 36 cm height, the API Tracker is small enough to take as standard luggage on an airplane.

Mounting configurations:

Alongside the upright set-up, the SmartTRACK™ Sensor can also be mounted upside down in order to monitor gravity and is available as an active target, even if no 6 degrees of freedom is necessary.
